A Journey between Art & Science, always driven by Creativity & Curiosity and inspired by the beauty of the Universe
Loïc Lagarde is a renowned French travel and fine art photographer, recognized for his bright, immersive landscapes that transform destinations into visual masterpieces. His journey from engineer to world-class photographer is a story of passion, bold reinvention, and a relentless pursuit of beauty. Through his lens, he captures the soul of a place, making people dream of travel, light, and emotion.

A Childhood Rooted in Art and Exploration
Born in Saint-Nazaire, Loïc grew up in a family that encouraged creativity and adventure. As a child, he spent hours drawing, winning a national contest organized by Alain Decaux and the French State, he then was invited to National Assembly for the bicentenary of the French Revolution. His parents, avid travelers, took him on journeys that sparked his curiosity for different cultures and breathtaking sceneries. These early experiences shaped his artistic vision, long before he ever picked up a camera.
Engineering, Video Games, and the Unfinished Puzzle
Following his passion for technology and innovation, Loïc studied electronic engineering. He later worked at General Electric Aviation in the U.S., before transitioning into the video game industry, he was always attracted by Art & Creation. While his career was promising, the urge to create something personal, something artistic, kept growing. Photography, once just a hobby, started taking over.
He started to publish his photos on forum, then Flickr in the late 2000’s-early 2010’s.

A Legacy of Adventure – The Influence of Lucien Mazan
Loïc is the great-grandson of Lucien Mazan, known as Petit-Breton, a cycling legend and the first rider to win the Tour de France twice in a row, but what is even more interesting in Loïc’s life is the fact the Lucien Mazan was also a pioneer in photography whom he shared a passion with. As he traveled across the roads his great-grandfather once raced on, he felt the weight of history and the power of dreams. His photography, much like Mazan’s legacy, is about pushing limits and capturing the essence of movement, time, and ambition.
A Turning Point – From Hobbyist to Professional
Everything changed in 2012. Loïc had been sharing his work on Flickr, long before Instagram reshaped the photography world. His images caught the attention of Airbnb. They commissioned him to photograph properties across Europe, marking his first professional step into photography. This moment was a revelation: photography was no longer just a passion—it was a career. Loïc left behind corporate life to dedicate himself fully to capturing the world.
